Maria Körösy

Maria Körösy has prepared literal (metaphrastic) versions of many Hungarian poets over the years. She is a native of Budapest who holds a Master of Arts in English from the University of Budapest. She was English Secretary of the Hungarian PEN Club for a decade. In 1974-1975 she held a British Council grant to study in London, where she took courses in Victorian literature. She has assisted Bruce Berlind with his Hungarian translations for two decades.
