James Brook is a poet, translator, and editor living in San Francisco. His translations include Panegyric by Guy Debord, Resistance by Victor Serge, My Tired Father by Gellu Naum, Zenobia by Gellu Naum (co-translator, Sasha Vlad), Lives of the Gods by Alberto Savinio, and works by Benjamin Péret. He was the principal editor of Resisting the Virtual Life: The Culture and Politics of Information and Reclaiming San Francisco: History, Politics, Culture. His poems and essays have appeared in City Lights Review, Exquisite Corpse, Inkblot, Blind Date, New Blind Date, Pharos, Gare du Nord, and other journals.
