Dialogue
Among Civilizations Through Poetry: A Reading from Poetry Inside Out
Poetry Inside Out (a program of the Center for the Art of Translation)
hosts its first bilingual reading by student translators of San
Francisco, Saturday, March 31, 2001 from 2-3:30 pm at the Koret
Auditorium, San Francisco Main Library. To mark our city's participation
in the United Nations-sponsored "Dialogue Among Civilizations
Through Poetry," bilingual elementary and middle school students
of San Francisco will show off their talents as declamadores and
translators of great works of poetry by authors such as García
Lorca of Spain and Dulce María Loynaz of Cuba. They will
also read their own poems and translations. Admission is FREE and
open to the public.
